Brave Meetings

Let us show you how structure and discipline will help make precious meeting time more energising, productive and cost-effective. Make decisions stick.

Description

What's the session about?

  • Want to create a culture that embraces and challenges what’s included in a meeting, therefore reducing the time-wasting items?
  • Want to identify how you can ‘generously exclude’ attendees so you have the right voices in the room? (credit to Priya Parker for that phrase)
  • Need more discipline in moving from discussion to decision-making?

Our aim is to make sure you leave with practical tools and techniques to enable you to change how you run meetings.

You’ll leave the course feeling that you can do it, that you’re making progress and feeling brave as a result of being able to practice in a safe environment.

What we will cover

  1. Assessment:  Identify time and energy blockers.
  2. Outcomes: Set clear purpose, boundaries and outcomes for your meetings.
  3. Structure and Discipline: Learn how to use structure and discipline to elevate your meetings
  4. Accountability: Techniques for more efficient and accountable decision making.

Useful Information

What you need to know before you attend

  • It’s an interactive, virtual 3-hour session with an opportunity for you to apply the tools to your real-life situations
  • That means we will be asking you to contribute so make sure you’re able to do that in a way that’s best for you
  • Please be aware we’ll ask you to keep your camera on as much as possible.  It really helps the conversations, the group and the trainers
  • We know it can be hard to speak up and be on screen with 100s of people, we keep the group size smaller for that reason

What you need to do before you attend

  • Think about what energises and derails the meetings you attend – and maybe how sometimes you contribute to both these things.  No judgement, we can all be derailers at times!
  • How prepared are you to make the changes back in the workplace?  Do you need to engage more people in the discussion?  Who might that be?
